Carly’s practice focuses on oil and gas and energy transactions, including the acquisition, development, and sale of energy assets and related real estate and land use matters.
Carly advises both oil and gas operators and landowners on a variety of matters involving their oil and gas and real estate interests, including oil and gas leasing, pipeline and surface use agreements, the purchase and sale of real property, and the formation and structuring of business entities. She also represents clients in renewable energy transactions involving solar, wind, and energy storage projects.
Prior to joining the firm, Carly practiced at an Am Law 5 firm, where she focused on the development, financing, acquisition, and sale of energy and infrastructure projects. She also has experience in state and federal oil and gas regulatory matters, as well as energy and land-related disputes.

- Represented an oil and gas operator in the acquisition of oil and gas properties and related assets.
- Negotiated options to lease, solar leases, wind leases, and battery energy storage leases in connection with the development of renewable energy projects.
- Represented a public company in its acquisition of a solar developer.
- Advised a wind company in a joint venture to develop an offshore wind project.
- Advised a renewable energy company in the sale of solar projects.
- Represented a renewable energy company in connection with its acquisition of an ownership interest in an offshore wind project.

- Advised clients in state and federal regulatory proceedings involving oil and gas and pipeline matters.
- Represented clients in disputes involving oil and gas leases, joint operating agreements, mineral and royalty deeds, and surface use issues.
- Advised ranch owners in connection with wildfire claims involving damage to cattle operations, hunting and grazing lands, infrastructure, and equipment.
