Mr. Augustyn’s practice focuses on corporate, energy and regulatory matters.
He has extensive experience in various types of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, strategic partnerships, entity formations and equity offerings. He regularly counsels public and privately held companies across diverse industries on high- value commercial contracts, corporate governance, and complex transactions.
In addition to his corporate practice, Mr. Augustyn, along with David Roth, spearheads the firm’s alternative energy practice. Mr. Augustyn represents numerous landowners, developers and institutional trustees in large-scale solar, wind, hydrogen and carbon sequestration transactions.
Prior to joining Elder Bray, Mr. Augustyn practiced in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, where he served in the legal department of the United States House of Representatives Committee on House Administration. A graduate of Notre Dame, Mr. Augustyn lettered in varsity football and spent a semester studying in London, England where he interned in the Parliament of the United Kingdom.

EXPERIENCE HIGHLIGHTS
- Represented a privately held technology company in connection with the multi- billion-dollar sale of its and its subsidiaries’ equity interests to a strategic buyer.
- Represented an institutional corporate trustee in the successful negotiation of a multi-million-dollar wind and solar lease covering more than 70,000 acres.
- Represented an industry leading solar developer in the multi-million-dollar acquisition of an existing solar energy generation project and its subsequent development.
- Negotiated numerous commercial transactions, as outside counsel to a Fortune 500 media company, including various high-value procurement agreements.
- Represented a private landowner in the successful multi-million-dollar sale of a substantial easement and right of way to a governmental entity for the construction of a barrier designed to enhance national security.
- Successfully negotiated a carbon sequestration option and lease agreement on behalf of a corporate trustee which secured a multi-million-dollar payment for the trust.
- Advised and managed the internal corporate reorganization of a Fortune 500 company.
- Represented a prominent international aerospace company in multiple aircraft acquisitions.
